About Us

The Urban Laboratory is a non-traditional educational facility that serves as a co- working space & research- focused, think tank laboratory for local college students to learn and explore the “urban environment” and local societal problems as it pertains to metropolitan neighborhoods. The Urban Laboratory develops, deploys and supports projects that have social impact with a keen focus on economic development, health and wellness, and environmental justice.

The Urban Laboratory is a collaborative partnership between community stakeholders. This stakeholder group will provide advisory leadership, guidance and support for community focused projects and may consist of non-profit groups, like Worcester Common Ground, Stone Soup Community Center, local colleges and universities, such as Becker College, the city of Worcester, and local residents.
